Children’s creativity

Thinking about the future of their child, all parents make plans and want their children to grow up as geniuses. And, of course, all possible efforts are made to implement the plan. Many times I witnessed how mothers boasted to each other what genius children they had. “Here my daughter is only a year and a half, and she can count to five!” “Ah, and my little son will turn four next month, and we have already learned all the letters and will soon learn the multiplication table!”

Yes, their little babies are undoubtedly clever, but it is unlikely that the mothers of these children, like many other parents, understand that at this age the child first needs to develop his abilities, creative potential, so that the personality of the child, his “I”. For him now it is much more important than the ability to count and read.

Children’s creativity The simplest and most affordable way to develop children’s abilities is creativity.

Children’s creativity is a special world where a child learns himself, his abilities, the world around him and can express his attitude to it. Still not being able to fully control their thoughts and speech, in order to clearly articulate their desires and needs, a child can express this with the help of his creativity. For example, many methods of work of psychologists with children are based on the analysis of children’s creativity. Drawings, applications and other children’s crafts can tell a lot about your children. From one children’s drawing you can find out what worries the child, what he likes, whom he loves, how his family treats him, how he feels in this world and other useful information, because the child’s creativity is a reflection of his inner world.

But, of course, creative work with a child is necessary, not only in order to better understand it. Parents should be engaged in creative work with the child, and not just give paper, pencils or other accessories in order for the child to develop harmoniously. It’s not scary if mom or dad is not an artist or a sculptor. The main thing is that, while doing drawing, modeling, application or other creative work at home with the child, parents should help the child understand and reveal his creative abilities.

They must teach the child the ability to communicate, the ability to think, the ability to learn, the ability to see, hear, be surprised, feel, fantasize, show curiosity. Such activities and knowledge will be an important basis for the further creative growth of the child.

So that the efforts of adults are not in vain, and the child can develop his creative abilities qualitatively, he needs to engage in creativity constantly, without making very long breaks. At the same time, one should not forget that everything has its own time and does not immediately require serious results from the child.

It will be better if professional educators take up further, qualitative growth in the creative abilities of the child.

Now there are a huge number of schools, studios, classes, circles, sections and other institutions involved in organizing children’s creativity. Each of them has its own program and its own goals. This must be taken into account when choosing the institution that your child will attend.

Communicating in a group of peers, the child is liberated, better adapted to the surrounding “adult” world, learns new information and begins to use the information already received, thereby accumulating his personal, invaluable experience. In addition, many children’s institutions offer not just children’s education, but also pay great attention to the organization of public life. Or, for example, in June 2005, the head and students of the Fantasy children’s art studio, located in Moscow, made a creative expedition to Denmark, as well as to Sweden and Finland, to the homeland of H.K. Andersen. In the city of Odense, a cultural event was held, a presentation of a collection of children’s works and presentation of memorable gifts to representatives of the storyteller’s museum. And in November of the same year, they held a grand exhibition at the Moscow State Children’s Theater for Children on the Sparrow Hills (the final festival dedicated to HK Andersen). Just imagine how much such events can mean for a child!

Many institutions offer individual lessons in children’s creativity. For example, Olga Slezkina, a teacher at the Moscow Center for Work with Children and Youth, Olga teaches painting and drawing lessons both to groups of children and individually. In individual lessons, there is also a plus. In such classes, children better absorb the information received.
